Rob McKay, the captain of Team Gobi Canada has finished the 250km Gobi March today! Rob perservered through a grueling 80km, 16hr, day yesterday and finished the final stage today with his team mates, Donna Carrigan and Donald Peterson. The Gobi March is a 6 stage, 250km footrace through the Gobi Desert. Participants are faced with everything from searing heat to blizzards and have to carry all of their supplies with them. 
The New Balance Half-Iron took place this weekend at Elk/Beaver Lake. This year saw almost 600 participants take part in the 8th year of the event which also attracts hundreds of spectators who create a great atmosphere around the finish line/transition area. Jonathon Caron of Penticton won the mens race and Frontrunners athlete Heather Wurtele was the overall womens winnner.

The weather broke just in time for the 8th Annual Edge to Edge Marathon this past weekend in Tofino. The rain and wind which had forced participants back into their warm beds saturday morning had subsided by race day and the weather offered an almost perfect morning for distance running.
